As many of you know, we made an offer on a house this weekend. After several back & forths, we were able to reach a deal. The paperwork was finalized this morning. The offer we made was contingent on us selling our house, which means the seller could entertain another offer if we haven't sold our house yet. We knew when we made the offer that this was a possibility- it's a great house. What we didn't expect was for that to happen today. No more than one hour after our contract was finalized, they accepted another offer and now we're out. One hour!
On one hand, we're extremely disappointed. We really, really liked this house. On the other hand, we are glad that this happened as soon as it did. We easily could have gone much further in the process and then lost the house at the last minute.
So, we're going to take a break for a while on the whole house thing. We weren't necessarily looking to move- rather we were open to the idea of moving if and only if the exact right house at the exact right price came along. We thought that house met both of those conditions. But, maybe this is God's way of saying that it may not have been the right time. I think I'm inclined to listen.
