It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

A yes, the last week of summer. The days are still warm, but comfortably so, and the nights and mornings have an almost fall-like chill. The best part of the baseball season is upon us, college football is in full swing, as is the NFL. The next 6-8 weeks are my favorite part of the year.

Things that make this fall especially exciting (in no specific order)...
1. Any time the Cubs get to play baseball in October it is exciting for me. And the way it looks so far, they should get to play a lot of baseball in October. I will probably be checking into the local hospital right around November 1.
2. We should find out what gender Blob 2 is in October.
3. Sophie turns (terrible??) 2 in November. She is learning and growing so fast these days, it's hard to keep up sometimes. Her vocabulary always amazes me. She won't use some of the most obvious words (like her own name) but then she randomly knows words like "jockey."
4. Other things... (I can't really talk about it here. I'm such a tease).
5. Nancy is beginning to make some serious headway on her dissertation. She's a writer now. She writes.
6. The cooler weather means the grass is growing again, which means soon there will be new lawn art. Stay tuned!
